DRAFTING
Drafting—riding closely behind another athlete during the cycling segment—is strictly prohibited. Race officials will actively monitor and enforce this rule.
According to the updated 2025 regulations:
-
1st & 2nd offense: 2-minute time penalty in the penalty box (blue card)
-
3rd offense: Disqualification (DSQ)
Athletes must maintain a minimum distance of 12 meters from one another and complete any overtaking maneuver within 25 seconds.
BIKE SAFETY
For safety during the cycling segment, wearing a helmet is mandatory. The use of MP3 players, mobile phones, or any other audio or music devices is strictly prohibited. Athletes must always ride on the right side of the road and follow the instructions of the designated volunteers.
BIB NUMBERS
Correct placement of the BIB number is required in all segments of the race. During the swim, wearing the official race swim cap is mandatory. On the bike, the number must be attached to the seat post, on both sides of the helmet, and the BIB number must be worn on the back. During the run, the number must be clearly visible at the front. The use of safety pins is strictly prohibited in the TRIFAST and TRIMAN races.
LITTERING
Littering is only permitted within designated litter zones: for the bike leg, 50 meters before and 50 meters after the aid stations; for the run leg, 10 meters before and 10 meters after. These zones will be clearly marked. Disposing of waste outside these areas will result in immediate disqualification from the race.
GENERAL
Any form of external assistance from spectators, acquaintances, or coaches is strictly prohibited. Only assistance from other athletes is permitted. Furthermore, pacing by companions moving alongside the athletes on the running course is not allowed. Receiving external assistance will result in immediate disqualification from the race. All personal equipment must be placed and remain within the individual’s basket in the transition area.
The race will take place on roads that will be closed to traffic, with the assistance of the Hellenic Police and numerous volunteers who will ensure your safety. However, it is advisable to be aware of the potential lack of awareness of some drivers.
All other time penalties for rule violations are 30 seconds, with the exception of littering outside designated zones, which leads to immediate disqualification (DSQ). Littering zones are marked and are located 50 meters after the aid and water stations on the bike course and 10 meters after the stations on the run course.
Any unsportsmanlike conduct, deviating from the defined course, receiving external assistance or pacing by companions, using non-approved equipment, as well as dangerous riding, will also result in immediate disqualification from the race (DSQ).
It is the sole responsibility of each athlete to know the number of laps of the course and to check the penalty box each time they pass it. If the athlete’s number is displayed, they must stop and serve their penalty. In the event of ignoring a confirmed penalty, they will be disqualified from the official race results at the end.
ITU rules apply.
